How it works
From the pile to filed.
01 / 04
Upload the pile
W-2s, 1099s, receipts and last year's return go into your secure portal, from your phone or your desk. Never by email.
02 / 04
A CPA sorts it
The same CPA as last year reads all of it, sends one list of what's missing, and quotes a flat fee in writing.
03 / 04
Review, then e-sign
A 20-minute call, on video or at our office, to walk through the return line by line. Then you sign in the portal.
04 / 04
Filed, with a plan
We e-file, tell you the moment it's accepted, and send one page on what to set aside for next year, and when.

What we take off your desk.
Individuals, freelancers and companies of up to about 50 people. Every return is prepared and signed by a licensed CPA, never handed to a seasonal preparer.
Federal and Illinois
Tax returns, prepared and signed by a CPA
For families, the self-employed, landlords, partnerships and S-corps. A second CPA reviews every return before it reaches you.
Individual
from $350
Business
from $900
Monthly bookkeeping
Reconciled every month, with your profit and loss in your inbox by the 15th, so you always know where the year stands.
S-corp setup
The election, payroll, and a reasonable salary worked out, so the savings are real and nothing invites a question.
IRS letters and audits
Send a photo of the letter. We read it, answer it and close it within two business days. Audits get a flat fee, quoted first.
Quarterly planning
A meeting with your CPA every quarter, the week your estimated tax is due, with the number worked out to the dollar.
Year-round, not just April.
Year-round clients meet their CPA four times a year, the week each federal estimated tax is due. By the time April comes, the return is mostly done.
April 15
Filing season
Returns filed, first estimate paid
Your return is in, and the first quarter's estimated tax is worked out to the dollar before the deadline, not on it.
June 15
Mid-year
A look at the first five months
We read the books so far, set the second estimate, and check that an S-corp salary still makes sense.
September 15
Extensions
Extended business returns filed
Partnership and S-corp returns on extension go in, and the third estimate is set from real numbers.
January 15
Year-end
December's moves, then the last estimate
Retirement contributions, equipment and bonuses are decided before December 31. The fourth estimate follows.
Flat fees, quoted first.
Your fee is quoted in writing before we start. If the return turns out simpler, it goes down. It never goes up without a phone call first.

Joanna Calloway started the firm in 2008, after nine years at a big downtown firm, because she wanted clients she'd still know in ten years. Five CPAs and three bookkeepers now, and every return is prepared and signed by a licensed CPA.

Every April 16 the office closes and the whole team takes the day. The phones are back on the 17th, and they stay on all summer.

How much will my return cost?
Individual returns start at $350 and self-employed returns at $575, and we quote yours in writing before we start. The fee is flat: it doesn't grow with every email or phone call.
Do I have to come to the office?
No. Most clients upload to the portal and meet us on video. If you'd rather sit across a table, come in any weekday or Saturday.
I haven't filed in a few years. Can you help?
Yes, and it's more common than you'd think. We pull your IRS transcripts, prepare the missing years, and set up a payment plan if you need one. From $350 a year.
I got a letter from the IRS. What now?
Don't call the number on it yet. Upload a photo to the portal, and we'll tell you what it means and answer it within two business days.
Should my business be an S-corp?
Often, once your profit is steady and above about $60,000 a year. We run your numbers on a free consultation, and setup is $750 if it makes sense.
Do you only work during tax season?
No. Most of our work happens in the other eight months: bookkeeping, quarterly planning, IRS letters, and the year-end moves in December.
Twenty minutes with a CPA, free.
Tell us what's in the pile. We'll tell you what it needs, what it costs, and whether we're the right firm for it. By phone, on video or at our office.
